Aaron is a client that I supported for a quick refresh of his apartment when I worked at my first design firm in 2012. Fast forward to 2021 when he had moved to a home in Oakland, and found me again so I could support him and his partner Hein as they merged two homes into one. When I first walked into this home, I recognized a lot of Aaron’s original furniture was still hanging around, and wanted to give them a fresh update that they would both love. Hein had a cozy large sofa that she wanted to bring with her, so coming up with a space plan that allowed for it, while still keeping the room feeling open was important. Finding the perfect thrifted dining table, some new pieces like the console and tv unit, creating a gallery wall with their personal artwork and adding in lots of cute and intentional accessories brought this space together magically. Having them both walk into this new space in their Home, and witnessing their grateful and happy reactions is why I love doing what I do!
